Hard to discover

Monday night I went to winebar because I wanted to drink something (everytime is Ok to drink something).
My friend said that he wanted to drink something from Piemonte (wine, of course) and I was agree.
After many propositions we choose a bottle of Langhe Nebbiolo. The year was 1999 and the producer is Mascarello.
In a first time the smells weren't very good, I smelled something like wet barrel and strong alcohol. We had to wait a long time to smell a good fragrance, but then it was very interesting. The Nebbiolo was great and its smells were raspberry, vanilla and pepper.
Hard to discover... but a wine worth testing
